Space Shuttle Atlantis

Just a few minuets ago, the space shuttle Atlantis landed safely at Edwards Air Force Base to conclude its 28 mission. Atlantis spent two weeks in space, delivering an addition to the International Space Station. Also, Atlantis brought home one astronaut who set the endurance record for the longest single spaceflight by a woman at 195 days.

Whenever a space shuttle lands, as it crosses from supersonic to subsonic, it emits its signature twin sonic boom. Today the sonic boom sounded at about 12:47 local time. I live about 80 miles form Edwards and approximately 30 seconds after Atlantis made the sonic boom, I heard it standing inside my house. The last time I heard the twin sonic boom was 5 years ago when i was rehearsing my 8th grade promotion. That was the shuttle Endeavour returning from its two week mission to the International Space Station.

I'M BACK ! !

I'm back now and I hope it is for good.

One reason I haven't been posting is school. The time I would post things at school was taken away from me. After that, blogger was blocked by the computers. Now that doesn't matter. I am done with High School!! My graduation ceremony is next Wednesday.

I have to get this off my chest. The Arizona Diamondbacks have had the worst interleague trip right now. First, we had to play the Red Sox. We won the first and third game, but lost the second. After the Sox, we had to travel to New York to play the Yankees. The D-Backs were swept by the Yankees extending their winning streak to 9. I can hope that the Orioles 5 game losing streak will work in my favor. Also, the Dodgers are hosting the Angels this weekend. I hope the Angels sweep the Dodgers like they did earlier in the year. I'm not sure how the Padres/Cubs game is going to turn out. All I have to say is... "Go Cubs."
